Burners are the functional part of every oil lamp. The wick is held in such a way that only the top section above the burner can burn thus providing the light for the lamp. The wheel raises and lowers the wick to adjust the amount of light and smoke given off by the wick. The prongs or coronet hold the chimney that reflects the light into the room. Burners come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit a variety of fonts and to hold a variety of chimneys. The normal burner ranges from 2 1/8" to 3" in diameter. The threaded section on the base of each burner range from 7/8" to 1 3/4" in diameter and threads into a collar that is attached to the lamp font.On this page are a variety of burners that I own. There are others such as oval and rectangular burners that I do not have. I am always looking for burners, especially the No. 0 burner and others that have a unique character.
